Support

Funes Vault is a free public preview, supported on a best-effort basis by its maintainer.

Report a problem or ask for a feature

Open an issue on GitHub Issues. It helps to include:

Issues are public. Never paste memories, agent keys (fns_mcp_v1_…) or AI provider API keys into an issue or a screenshot.

Security

Please report vulnerabilities privately, not in a public issue: use GitHub's private vulnerability reporting; only the maintainer sees it. SECURITY.md describes what's in scope, the known limits, and how reports are handled.

Common questions

An agent can't see Funes Vault

Make sure Funes Vault is running (its icon is in the menu bar) and the agent has access on its page in the app. Then run the funes-mcp check command above, and see Connect agents for each agent's setup. After changing an agent's MCP settings, restart the agent.

Where is my data?

Only on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/FunesVault. Back it up with the rest of your Mac (Time Machine), or export the vault from Settings ▸ Data. Exports never contain keys or access settings.

Do I need Apple Intelligence?

No. With Apple Intelligence (macOS 26 or later), Funes Vault uses Apple's on-device model to propose titles and categories for new captures. Without it, simple rules on your Mac propose them. Search and agent access work the same either way.

Does anything leave my Mac?

Only what you allow agents to have, a daily update check to GitHub, and, if you add one, what you send to an AI provider of your choice. The privacy statement has the details.

How do I uninstall it?

Remove Funes Vault from your agents' MCP settings, quit the app from its menu, and move FunesVault.app to the Trash. Your vault stays in ~/Library/Application Support/FunesVault until you delete that folder. If you installed with Homebrew, brew uninstall --zap --cask funes-vault removes the app and moves that folder to the Trash. API keys for AI providers you added are in your Keychain under com.funesvault.provider.
